Official rates reflect daily currency shifts

Data from the National Bank shows the hryvnia facing consistent pressure from major foreign currencies. The decline against the dollar was modest but confirmed a trend of gradual weakening.

The drop against the euro was significantly sharper, indicating stronger demand for the European currency. Ukrainian National News reported these figures based on the central bank's official publications.

Banks and exchange offices show price gaps

Commercial banks traded the dollar at an average buying rate of 44.49 hryvnias. The average selling rate was higher at 45.03 hryvnias, creating a spread of 54 kopecks.

Exchange offices offered slightly different prices for the same currency pair on Tuesday morning. The average buying rate was 44.78 hryvnias while the selling rate reached 44.90 hryvnias.

Euro transactions at banks showed an average buying rate of 51.05 hryvnias. The selling price was set at 51.82 hryvnias, reflecting a wider margin than the dollar spread.

Market liquidity drives the final pricing

Exchange offices recorded a euro buying rate of 51.75 hryvnias and a selling rate of 52.00 hryvnias. This narrow spread suggests tighter liquidity conditions in the physical cash market.

The difference between bank and exchange office rates highlights the varying costs of accessing foreign currency. Traders must account for these specific spreads when calculating total transaction costs.
