The euro rate fell to 1,907,263 rials from 1,913,953 rials over the same period. According to GN markets/fx (en-US), 29 currencies appreciated while 17 depreciated against the rial. The British pound decreased to 2,224,457 rials. The Swiss franc dropped to 2,018,469 rials. The Swedish krona weakened to 168,678 rials.
Regional currencies showed mixed performance in the official table. The Kuwaiti dinar rose to 5,396,853 rials. The Omani rial increased to 4,325,037 rials. The Saudi riyal climbed to 443,671 rials. These official figures differ significantly from parallel market values. On the black market, one US dollar trades for 2,260,000 to 2,290,000 rials. One euro trades for 2,600,000 to 2,630,000 rials. The gap between official and street rates remains wide.
