Charlotte, N.C. — The Longwood women’s basketball team received its 2026-27 Big South Conference schedule on Wednesday. The Lancers will play 16 league games, starting Dec. 30 against Presbyterian at the Joan Perry Brock Center.
The team enters this season after two straight 20-win campaigns. The slate includes home and away trips to every Big South rival. Longwood faces each opponent twice during the regular season.
Early Season Roadmap
The campaign begins with a four-game stretch. Longwood hosts Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb before traveling to Charleston Southern and Winthrop. The new year starts Jan. 6 with a home game against Gardner-Webb.
The Lancers then visit Charleston Southern on Jan. 9. They travel to Winthrop on Jan. 16 and High Point on Jan. 20. A home matchup with UNC Asheville follows on Jan. 23.
Late Winter Schedule
January ends with three contests. Longwood travels to USC Upstate on Jan. 27. The team hosts Charleston Southern on Jan. 30. February brings eight conference games, beginning Feb. 6 against Winthrop.
The Lancers visit UNC Asheville on Feb. 10 and Presbyterian on Feb. 13. They return home for back-to-back games against USC Upstate and High Point. The regular season concludes on the road.
Longwood plays Radford on Feb. 24. The final regular-season game is at Gardner-Webb on Feb. 27. Game times will be announced later, with possible television adjustments.
Championship Details and Tickets
The 2027 Big South Women’s Basketball Championship runs March 3-4 and 6-7. The event takes place at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn. The first round starts March 3, followed by quarterfinals on March 4.
Semifinals occur March 6, with the title game on March 7. Longwood was the Big South attendance leader two years running. Season tickets are available now at Longwood University Athletics. Single-game tickets go on sale Oct. 15.
