Howmet Aerospace lifted its full-year financial targets after strong second-quarter results, attributing the improvement to increased jet production and new data center opportunities.

Howmet Aerospace Inc. (HWM) has strengthened its fiscal position by raising its 2026 adjusted earnings per share forecast to a range of $5.23 to $5.31. The company also increased its revenue guidance to between $10 billion and $10.1 billion, citing robust demand for aerospace components as major manufacturers ramp up jet production. These updates follow a second-quarter report where adjusted EPS surged 46% to $1.33, while revenue climbed 24% to $2.55 billion, surpassing market expectations.

The financial performance reflects a shift in demand drivers, with sales of gas-turbine blades for data centers providing a new growth vector alongside traditional aviation contracts. Despite the positive quarterly figures, the stock has recently lagged the broader market, falling 13.3% over the past three months while the S&P 500 rose 3.8%. However, on a trailing twelve-month basis, HWM shares have outperformed the index, gaining 24.6% compared to the S&P 500's 16.5% increase.

Stronger Demand Drives Quarterly Beat

The second-quarter results, released in August, highlighted the impact of rising aircraft demand on the company’s bottom line. The 46% jump in adjusted EPS was supported by volume growth in the Engine Products segment, which supplies critical components for commercial and military aircraft. Revenue growth of 24% indicates that pricing and volume dynamics are favorable, allowing Howmet to capitalize on the supply chain tightness within the aerospace industry.

A significant portion of this strength is attributed to the Fastening Systems segment, where higher prices have contributed to margin expansion. The company operates through four primary segments, including Engine Products, Fastening Systems, Engineered Structures, and Forged Wheels. This diversified portfolio enables Howmet to serve customers in aircraft engines, industrial gas turbines, and heavy-duty vehicles, reducing reliance on any single market sector.

Broadening Market Beyond Traditional Aviation

While commercial aviation remains the core business, Howmet is increasingly benefiting from the energy transition. The company has noted growing sales of gas-turbine blades specifically for data center power generation projects. This diversification provides a buffer against potential fluctuations in the commercial jet market. The demand for these specialized components is expected to remain strong as data center infrastructure expands globally, offering a new revenue stream distinct from traditional aerospace cycles.

The company’s market capitalization stands at $91.2 billion, placing it firmly in the large-cap category. As a supplier to Boeing and Airbus, Howmet is positioned to benefit from anticipated increases in widebody production. Specifically, the ramp-up of the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 programs is expected to drive further demand for Howmet’s engineered structures and fastening systems, ensuring a steady flow of orders through the current production cycle.

Guidance Reflects Long-Term Production Trends

Looking ahead, the raised 2026 guidance is supported by structural trends in the aerospace supply chain. The company expects continued growth through 2030, driven by higher fastener prices and sustained output from major OEMs. Analysts covering the stock, as noted in reports from GN stocks/sp500, maintain a positive outlook, with a consensus rating of Strong Buy. The mean price target of $332.57 suggests a significant premium to current trading levels, reflecting confidence in the company’s ability to execute on its expanded production plans.

Despite the bullish long-term view, short-term price action has been mixed. The stock has traded below its 200-day moving average since late last year, indicating persistent volatility. However, the fundamental improvements in revenue and earnings provide a solid foundation for future performance. The combination of traditional aerospace recovery and new energy sector opportunities positions Howmet to outperform rivals like GE Aerospace, which has seen more modest gains over the past year.
