Bioceres Crop Solutions reported stable fourth-quarter revenues of $55.9 million and positive adjusted EBITDA, driven by cost cuts and a 36% surge in crop nutrition sales, while completing key debt refinancing in Argentina.

Bioceres Crop Solutions Corp reported fourth-quarter revenues from continuing operations of $55.9 million, a slight year-over-year increase from $55.4 million. The company achieved positive adjusted EBITDA of $0.6 million, a $10 million improvement over the prior year period, as cost reduction initiatives began to offset gross profit declines. This stabilization follows a difficult fiscal year where total revenues fell 18% to $238 million.

The financial turnaround in the fourth quarter was supported by a 19% reduction in selling, general, and administrative expenses. According to earnings data reported by GN markets, the company successfully reprofiled $28 million in bank debt and extended the maturity of $46.5 million in local Argentine bonds, strengthening its short-term liquidity position despite a high overall debt load.

Crop Nutrition Drives Q4 Growth

The Crop Nutrition segment was the primary driver of quarterly revenue growth, expanding 36% year-over-year. This performance was attributed to strong sales of microbeaded fertilizers, which helped offset declines in the crop protection and seeds divisions. While reported gross profit for the quarter decreased 6% to $12.7 million, management noted that this figure included approximately $4 million in non-recurring inventory obsolescence charges.

Excluding these one-time charges, the company indicated that profitability improved across several core product categories. The gross margin for the quarter stood at 22.8%, down from the prior year, largely due to the lower revenue base and the specific inventory adjustments taken during the period.

Full-Year Performance and Margin Compression

For fiscal year 2026, Bioceres reported total revenues of $238 million, a decline of 18% from the previous year. The drop was significantly impacted by the reconfiguration of the seeds business, which accounted for roughly half of the revenue decrease, alongside lower sales in crop protection. Full-year reported gross profit fell 21% to $82.9 million, resulting in a gross margin of 34.8%.

Chief Executive Officer Federico Trucco described the fiscal year as challenging, citing ongoing litigation with creditors and the resulting business consequences. The decline was most pronounced in international operations, while commercial activities in Argentina stabilized toward the end of the year following the initial debt refinancing steps.

Leverage and Litigation Risks Remain

Despite the liquidity improvements from local debt extensions, Bioceres maintains a highly leveraged balance sheet. Net financial debt stood at $213.6 million as of June 30, with only $12.2 million in cash and short-term investments. A significant portion of this debt, specifically $118.6 million in secured notes, is classified as short-term due to an ongoing acceleration dispute with noteholders.

The company continues to face legal challenges from creditor litigation, which has constrained operational flexibility. While the fourth quarter showed signs of operational stabilization through cost controls and product mix shifts, the long-term resolution of the debt structure and litigation remains a critical factor for future financial performance.
