Rare Earths Americas Reports 4,039 Ppm REO in Brazil

Drilling at Homer-A reveals near-surface magnet rare earths. The company targets a 2027 resource estimate.
Key points
- Rare Earths Americas reported 22 meters at 2,298 ppm REO plus scandium in a single drill hole at Homer-A in Brazil.
- The company has doubled its drill fleet to four rigs, with a $5 million budget to complete 15,000 meters by year-end.
- Metallurgical testing is underway to assess recoverability, while niobium, tantalum, and scandium were also identified.
Rare Earths Americas reported initial drilling results from its Homer-A project in Goiás, Brazil, identifying widespread near-surface rare earth mineralization. The assays cover approximately 1,250 meters, representing about 8% of the company’s planned 15,000-meter drilling program for 2026.
According to citybiz, the mineralization is hosted in clay and saprolite, enriched in magnet rare earths including neodymium-praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium. Drilling has tested roughly 2.15 square kilometers, less than 20% of the primary geochemical anomaly and under 7% of the broader magnetic anomaly.
Initial Assay Results Show High Grade
Drill hole RC-TGA-0010 returned 22 meters grading 2,298 parts per million total rare earth oxides plus scandium from a depth of five meters. This interval included seven meters at 3,424 ppm. Another hole, RC-TGA-0004, returned 13 meters at 2,392 ppm, including a three-meter section at 4,039 ppm.
The company noted elevated concentrations of heavy rare earth elements in several higher-grade intervals. Mineralization begins near the surface and has averaged nearly 20 meters in thickness across the reported drilling. These figures establish the initial grade profile for the early-stage asset.
Expanding Drill Fleet and Budget
Rare Earths Americas has doubled the Homer-A drill fleet to four rigs, completing more than 6,500 meters as of September 15. The fully funded drilling program carries a budget of $5 million. The company expects to finish the 15,000-meter campaign by year-end.
CEO Donald Swartz stated that immediate priorities include expanding the mineralized footprint and establishing continuity. The company aims to target an initial mineral resource estimate in 2027. This timeline aligns with the completion of the current drilling phase.
Metallurgical Testing and Co-Products
Initial drilling identified zones containing niobium, tantalum, and scandium. Rare Earths Americas plans additional technical work to evaluate whether these minerals contribute to the project’s value. Metallurgical testing is underway to determine the recoverability of the rare earth mineralization.
Homer-A remains an early-stage exploration project with no defined mineral resource or reserve. The company has not yet established the economic significance or metallurgical characteristics of the mineralization. It has not determined if the material is amenable to economic extraction or conventional ionic-clay recovery methods.
