Embark ships a minor patch addressing a frequent PS5 crash and various visual glitches ahead of the next content drop.

Key points

  • Update 1.000.056 fixes a frequent PlayStation 5 crash related to the physics engine.
  • The patch corrects visual lighting issues in the Buried City and Riven Tides maps.
  • Inventory safeguards prevent items from being placed into incompatible slots.

Embark Studios has released a minor update for ARC Raiders, bringing the console version to build 1.000.056. The patch, reported by MP1st, focuses on stability and visual corrections rather than introducing new gameplay features, as players await the upcoming Frozen Trail content.

For many players, the most significant change is the resolution of a frequent crash on PlayStation 5 devices linked to the physics engine. This fix aims to improve overall stability, while other adjustments address cosmetic bugs and inventory behavior across all platforms.

Stability fixes target console issues

The update prioritizes resolving technical hiccups that disrupt the gaming experience. On PS5, the patch specifically addresses a recurring crash caused by the game's physics engine. Additionally, Embark has improved crash detection tools and fixed a rare issue that occurred during server shutdowns, contributing to a more reliable session for players.

Xbox users also benefit from this release, with fixes for resource conflicts and ongoing efforts to reduce crashes on Series X and S hardware. These changes are part of a broader push to stabilize the game before the next major update, ensuring that technical issues do not overshadow the gameplay.

Visual and inventory corrections applied

Beyond performance, the patch fixes several visual anomalies. In the Buried City map, lighting issues that made areas appear overly dark have been corrected. Similarly, visual glitches in the Riven Tides area and incorrect colors on objects like lockers and cars have been restored to their intended appearance.

Inventory management has also seen improvements. The update prevents items from being placed into incompatible containers, such as forcing non-quick-use items into the belt. It also fixes a memory leak where item tooltips retained data from previous screens, which could affect stability during long play sessions.

Known issues remain unresolved

Despite these fixes, Embark lists several persistent problems that are not yet resolved. These include animation glitches when interrupting searches, enemies floating to the ceiling in specific rooms, and issues with weapon swap animations after vaulting. Players using non-US keyboard layouts may also find that custom keybindings reset after every raid.

The development team notes that improvements to the Quick Wheel behavior are in progress to prevent item switching errors. With the first look at the Frozen Trail content scheduled for late September, this patch serves as a interim step to stabilize the current build.
