ASUS ROG Unveils 20th Anniversary Gear at Tokyo Game Show

ASUS is preparing to showcase its 20th-anniversary gaming lineup at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, offering visitors a hands-on look at new hardware and unreleased portable consoles.
ASUS JAPAN is set to exhibit its gaming brand, Republic of Gamers, at the Tokyo Game Show 2026. The event will run from September 17 to September 21 at Makuhari Messe, providing a centralized location for enthusiasts to interact with the company’s latest hardware. As reported by GN technics/gaming (en-US), this exhibition marks a significant moment for the brand, which is celebrating two decades of presence in the gaming market.
The booth will feature a comprehensive display of the "ROG Edition 20" series, a collection of products designed to commemorate the anniversary. These items range from high-end PC components like motherboards and graphics cards to peripherals such as gaming chairs and routers. The inclusion of these specific models in a single venue allows for direct comparison of the brand’s current technological capabilities and design language.
Hands-on demonstrations of portable hardware
A central focus of the exhibit will be the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a portable gaming console making its first public appearance in Japan. Visitors will have the opportunity to play a curated selection of titles, including Street Fighter 6, Elden Ring Nightreign, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This hands-on access allows potential buyers to assess the device's performance, thermal management, and ergonomics in real-world scenarios.
However, the availability of these demos is limited to the physical event. The ROG Xbox Ally X20 is described as an unreleased product in the Japanese market, meaning it is not yet available for purchase online or in retail stores. This creates a gap between experiencing the technology and acquiring it, requiring attendees to rely on on-site impressions until a formal release date and pricing structure are confirmed.
Anniversary display includes new monitors
In addition to compute hardware, the exhibition will showcase several OLED gaming monitors that have previously appeared at international trade shows like Computex and Gamescom. Models such as the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace will be available for inspection in Japan for the first time. These displays are critical components for high-performance gaming setups, offering high refresh rates and contrast ratios that are difficult to evaluate through marketing materials alone.
The display will also include the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-G Edition 20, a specific anniversary variant. While these monitors are already announced, their presence at a gaming-focused trade show signals a strong push into the consumer PC market. The trade-off for consumers is that these high-end displays typically command premium price points, and the event serves primarily as a validation of their visual quality rather than an immediate opportunity for discounted purchase.
Promotional incentives at the venue
To drive foot traffic and engagement, ASUS is implementing a promotional campaign at the booth. This includes a prize draw for gaming laptops and other hardware, as well as limited-time sales offering discounts of up to 30 percent on select items. These incentives are designed to create urgency and reward immediate participation in the event activities.
The campaign requires participants to engage with the brand’s social media channels to enter the lottery. While this strategy boosts digital visibility, it also ties the physical experience to online engagement. For attendees, the primary value remains in the direct interaction with the hardware, particularly the unreleased portable console, which offers a tangible preview of the brand’s future direction in mobile gaming.
