Nintendo reveals winter slate with major ports and new titles

Nintendo has detailed its upcoming lineup for the Switch 2, highlighting significant third-party ports and new entries in beloved franchises for the coming year.
Following a recent showcase focused on The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo provided a broader overview of its upcoming releases during a second live stream. The event confirmed that several high-profile titles are scheduled to arrive on the Switch 2 console this winter. While some announcements were reminders of games already released or imminent, the core of the presentation centered on new ports and expanded content for Nintendo's latest hardware.
Major third-party titles confirmed for Switch 2
The most significant news involves the arrival of major role-playing games on the new console. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on December 4, bringing the popular action RPG to Nintendo's ecosystem. Additionally, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the final chapter of the remake trilogy, has been locked in for April 8, 2027. Engadget notes that this release coincides with the game's launch on other platforms, ensuring players do not face a delay for the console version.
Beyond these flagship titles, the stream confirmed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be coming to Switch 2 in 2027. This medieval action RPG is a substantial addition to the library, particularly as the port will include all downloadable content. Furthermore, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is scheduled for September 29, with specific enhancements for the Switch 2 version such as gyro aiming and touchscreen support. These additions signal a strong push to attract players who prefer immersive, story-driven experiences on handheld devices.
Enhanced visuals and new gameplay modes
Nintendo also highlighted upgrades to existing properties. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is returning in a Definitive Edition for Switch 2 on February 25. This version features improved visuals, higher frame rates, and increased enemy density. While existing owners of the original Switch version will not receive a free upgrade, they can transfer their save data and benefit from a discount on the new edition. The update also includes a new, more challenging difficulty mode for seasoned players.
In the realm of multiplayer and casual gaming, Star Fox is getting a significant update. A split-screen option for up to four players in Battle Mode will be available starting September 29, alongside three new stages. This move aims to revitalize local multiplayer experiences. Similarly, Pikmin 4 on Switch 2 will introduce voice command support, allowing players to control their insect-like allies using the console's built-in microphone. These features leverage the specific hardware capabilities of the Switch 2 to offer unique interactive elements not found on previous generations.
New entries in long-running franchises
The stream also teased new games in established series. Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is slated for December 10 on both Switch and Switch 2. This title promises the largest collection of puzzles in the franchise's history, with solving them unlocking narrative details. Additionally, a new entry in the Yo-kai Watch series, titled Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain, is in development. While specific details remain scarce, the announcement confirms that the developer, Level 5, is continuing to expand this beloved RPG line.
For fans of indie hits, Meccha Chameleon is arriving on Switch 2 immediately. This multiplayer hide-and-seek game, which saw massive success on PC, allows players to camouflage their characters to blend into the environment. Its immediate availability ensures that console players can join in on the trend without waiting. Meanwhile, Pokémon Pokopia will receive a second expansion later this year, adding accessories like sunglasses and bowties to the life simulation experience. These updates suggest a strategy of keeping existing titles fresh through continuous content delivery.
