iPhone 18 Pro Cases Available Before Phone Launch

Apple has begun selling accessories for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series, with a key benefit for current owners: the new cases fit the existing iPhone 17 Pro models.
Apple has started selling cases and other accessories for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in its retail stores. This rollout happens ahead of the official phone launch, which is scheduled for one week from now. Pre-orders for the new devices will open tomorrow, but customers can already purchase the physical protection and lifestyle items designed for them.
A significant detail for consumers is that these new accessories are compatible with the previous generation. According to 9to5Mac, the cases designed for the iPhone 18 Pro series will also fit the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This means users who are satisfied with their current hardware can still adopt the new design language, such as updated colors or materials, without needing to upgrade their phones.
Cross-Generation Compatibility Expands Options
The lineup includes familiar options like the $49 Silicone Case and the redesigned Clear Case with MagSafe. Apple has also refreshed its $59 TechWoven Case, which features a textured, fabric-like finish. Beyond cases, the store is offering updated FineWoven Wallets in new colors and the standard $59 Crossbody Strap in a wider range of choices.
New Wrist Strap Adds Versatility
The most notable new item is the $29 Wrist Strap. This accessory is designed to attach to compatible Apple cases, allowing users to secure their phone to their wrist. It is not limited to phones; the strap also works with AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3, offering a more secure way to carry earbuds during exercise or travel.
The strap is made from 100% recycled polyester yarn and measures 15.4 inches in length. It features flexible embedded magnets that help keep the device aligned and stable around the wrist. Apple offers the Wrist Strap in six colors: black, taupe, olive, crisp blue, magenta, and burgundy. It is compatible with the TechWoven, Silicone, and Clear cases for both the new iPhone 18 Pro models and the older iPhone 17 lineup.
Material Choices and Environmental Considerations
Apple continues to emphasize recycled materials in its accessory line. The Wrist Strap’s use of recycled polyester yarn aligns with the company’s broader sustainability goals. While the specific environmental impact of the other cases is not detailed in this report, the TechWoven and Silicone options represent the standard durable materials Apple uses for device protection. The trade-off for consumers choosing these accessories is primarily aesthetic and functional rather than technical, as they do not alter the performance of the phone itself.
