Polish PM Warns of Imminent Russian Hybrid Strikes
Poland’s Prime Minister has issued a stark warning that Russia is preparing hybrid attacks on NATO territory, aiming to undermine collective defense commitments through ambiguous incidents.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned on Thursday that Russia is planning hybrid strikes using drones or rockets against European nations supporting Ukraine. Speaking to the Polish parliament, Tusk stated that Moscow intends to frame these attacks as accidental incidents. According to Tusk, this strategy is designed to paralyze or weaken the motivation of NATO countries to rush to the defense of a member state under attack. He emphasized that there is a real risk that projectiles will enter the territory of eastern flank nations, causing destruction while allowing Russia to avoid triggering a formal NATO response.
The Prime Minister highlighted the increasing danger posed by jet-powered drones, which fly higher and faster than conventional unmanned aerial vehicles.
