Indonesia's 10-year sovereign bond yield reached 7.16 percent on Wednesday. The government plans to launch two retail bond tranches in late 2026.

Indonesia's 10-year sovereign bond yield reached 7.16 percent on Wednesday. This figure represents a 0.06 percentage point increase over the past month. It also marks a 0.83 percentage point rise compared to the previous year.

The Ministry of Finance will issue Savings Bond Ritel SBR015 and Sukuk Tabungan ST017. These launches target a high-yield macro environment. Data from GN auto markets/bonds: sovereign debt confirms the rising benchmark rates.

Projected Coupon Ranges for New Issues

Bank Central Asia economists estimate the SBR015 coupon between 6.50 and 6.85 percent. This range reflects a 75 to 85 basis point spread over the central bank rate. The current benchmark rate stands at 5.75 percent.

The ST017 sukuk is projected to offer a coupon between 6.75 and 7.10 percent. This instrument carries a wider spread of 130 to 150 basis points. Both instruments use a floating-with-floor mechanism.

Timing Challenges for Retail Investors

The SBR015 offering period runs from September 28 to October 22, 2026. The ST017 window opens on November 6 and closes on December 2, 2026. These dates coincide with the year-end holiday cycle.

Household cash balances typically tighten during this period. Seasonal spending commitments reduce available liquidity for investments. The government must compete with private financial institutions for capital.

Sovereign Debt Strategy in Q4

The Ministry of Finance aims to secure retail financing targets for the fourth quarter. Success depends on aggressive coupon pricing against private sector offers. Domestic liquidity depth remains a key variable for subscription volumes.
