The number of crypto millionaires has fallen to 135,694. Total global ownership has simultaneously expanded to 742 million people.
The global count of crypto millionaires has decreased to 135,694. This figure includes 92,272 individuals holding at least one million dollars in Bitcoin. The total market capitalization has contracted to 2.6 trillion dollars. Bitcoin represents approximately 1.6 trillion dollars of that total value.
Total crypto ownership has reached 742 million people worldwide. This includes 371 million people holding Bitcoin. The data comes from Henley & Partners. The firm noted that the current market decline is milder than previous cycles. Previous downturns following major peaks exceeded 75 percent in price correction.
Wealth Concentration Shifts Downward
There are currently 290 crypto centimillionaires with assets over 100 million dollars. One hundred fifty-one of these individuals hold their wealth in Bitcoin. Twenty-three people qualify as crypto billionaires. Nine of these billionaires have significant exposure to Bitcoin. These numbers are lower than the 2024 figures.
In 2024, the number of crypto millionaires was 172,300. This represented a 95 percent increase from 2023. The 2026 report shows a reversal of this expansion. Bitcoin millionaire addresses fell by 7,485 during 2025. The count dropped from 155,569 to 148,084 over the year.
Adoption Leaders and Tax Implications
Singapore leads the 2026 Crypto Adoption Index. The United Arab Emirates holds the second position. Hong Kong, the United States, and Switzerland follow. Digital assets are moving across borders easily. Owners remain subject to national tax and legal systems. Dozens of jurisdictions are preparing to exchange information under the OECD framework.
Henley & Partners reports rising interest in residence options. Wealthy holders are seeking advice on where to base their families. This trend includes offshore wealth planning. Investors are using trusts for estate planning and tax purposes. The firm notes that crypto clients are younger than traditional private clients.
Market Context and Ownership Data
Bitcoin traded 38 percent below its October 2025 peak. The report was compiled as of August 31. The market contraction has reduced the number of high-net-worth holders. However, the broad base of ownership continues to grow. This indicates a wider distribution of small holdings.
Wallet counts do not directly match individual holder estimates. One person can control multiple addresses. The 742 million figure reflects unique people. The 135,694 figure reflects individuals with significant wealth. These metrics provide a dual view of the market structure.
