Hong Kong Executes First HKDAP Digital Asset Fund Transaction

China Asset Management completed Hong Kong's first digital-asset investment using the HKD-pegged stablecoin HKDAP.
China Asset Management (Hong Kong) executed the territory’s first digital-asset investment using the HKDAP stablecoin. The transaction involved subscriptions and redemptions in a digital money market fund. Standard Chartered Bank and OSL Group facilitated the process. This marks a significant step for institutional adoption of digital assets in the region.
HKDAP enables fund liquidity operations
The fund manager utilized HKDAP for both buying and selling units in the money market fund. This mechanism allows for faster settlement compared to traditional banking rails. The digital money market fund is managed by China Asset Management. The use of a stablecoin streamlines the investment workflow for clients.
AnchorPoint issues the stablecoin asset
AnchorPoint Financial issued the HKDAP token used in this transaction. This entity holds a license as a stablecoin issuer in Hong Kong. Standard Chartered Bank established AnchorPoint Financial to lead its digital currency initiatives. The token is pegged one-to-one with the Hong Kong dollar.
Institutional players drive market adoption
Standard Chartered Bank and OSL Group served as key partners in the deal. Their involvement provides the necessary infrastructure for tokenized asset management. This collaboration demonstrates the feasibility of using stablecoins in regulated financial products. The market is moving toward integrating digital assets into traditional asset management strategies.
