Ondo Finance has gained direct access to the settlement infrastructure handling over 85% of US mutual fund transactions.
Ondo Finance has gained direct access to the settlement infrastructure handling over 85% of US mutual fund transactions. The company’s US subsidiary, Oasis Pro Markets, became the first tokenization firm to join Fund/SERV. This network is operated by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation.
DTCC announced the membership on September 16. The connection provides a standardized link to fund companies and wealth platforms. It removes the need for separate technical integrations with each distributor.
Standardized Connection Eliminates Fragmentation
Fund/SERV has served as the operational backbone of the US mutual fund industry for decades. It processes buy and sell orders and settles trades. It also manages account records and regulatory reporting.
Previously, tokenized fund products required separate negotiations with each distributor. This fragmentation was a major obstacle for blockchain-based adoption. Oasis Pro Markets acts as a registered broker-dealer with the SEC.
Interoperability Supports Digital Asset Growth
Talia Klein, Managing Director at DTCC, described the move as part of a broader strategy. She stated that operational connectivity is as important as blockchain technology. This interoperability is essential for achieving scale in the market.
Ian De Bode, Acting CEO of Ondo Finance, emphasized the efficiency of the new setup. The single connection allows transactions with various service providers. It streamlines the process for institutional investors.
Ondo Expands Institutional Market Footprint
Ondo has positioned itself as a bridge between institutional finance and blockchain assets. Its Ondo Stocks platform surpassed $1 billion in total value locked in May. The platform covers more than 260 tokenized US stocks and exchange-traded funds.
The company also offers USDY, a tokenized product for US Treasury-linked assets. Across all products, Ondo holds more than $3.5 billion in total value locked. It lists over 440 tokenized securities through its platform.
Institutional partners include BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and JPMorgan’s Kinexys platform. These figures reflect platform-reported data at the time of the announcement. The integration strengthens the link between traditional finance and digital assets.
