The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose to $6.165 on Friday. This marks the 31st consecutive day of price increases in the region. The figure represents the highest level recorded since May 26.

Drivers in Orange County saw their average price climb to $6.142. This is also the 31st straight day of upward movement. The local average has increased by $1.435 compared to the same period last year.

Regional Price Trends

Los Angeles County prices gained 52.3 cents over the past 31 days. The daily increase on Friday was 3 cents. Orange County prices rose 56.7 cents over the same one-month period.

Both counties are now paying significantly more than one month ago. Los Angeles prices are 52.3 cents higher than in early September. Orange County prices are 56.7 cents above their levels from a month prior.

National Market Context

The national average price reached $4.468 on Friday. This is the 18th increase in the last 19 days. The national average has risen 39.1 cents since early September.

Current national prices are at their highest level for this time of year. Analysts note that the market has seen only one brief dip in recent weeks. The trend remains firmly upward despite minor fluctuations.

Geopolitical Supply Drivers

Prices in Los Angeles have increased by $1.471 since February 28. This period coincides with the start of the joint U.S./Israel conflict with Iran. The conflict has driven global oil prices higher.

California imports significant oil volumes from the Middle East. Kandace Redd of the Automobile Club of Southern California stated that supply concerns are impacting pump prices. She noted that oil prices would need to drop significantly to lower local fuel costs.
