Cerillion has revised its full-year financial outlook downward, attributing the change to deferred software licence upgrades rather than failures in core project delivery.

Cerillion (LSE:CER) has lowered its full-year revenue and earnings projections, stating that delays in software licence expansions are suppressing current financial performance. The company now anticipates full-year revenue in the range of £46 million to £48 million, a figure that falls below prevailing market consensus. This reduction in top-line growth is directly linked to the postponement of upgrade orders from both new and existing clients, rather than issues with the execution of ongoing projects.

Alongside the revenue adjustment, Cerillion projects an adjusted EBITDA margin between 43% and 45% for the fiscal year. This margin range is also below current analyst expectations and represents a decline from the level recorded in the previous financial year. The company emphasized that while these specific licence deals have been deferred, major customer implementations remain on track, with significant transformation projects for UCom and Omantel approaching completion.

Operational Focus Shifts to Project Completion

The primary driver of the revised guidance is the timing of software licence expansions, which have been pushed back. Cerillion clarifies that this delay does not indicate a problem with the delivery of its core infrastructure or existing client projects. Instead, the company reported a strong performance in the second half of the year, highlighting that key elements of its major transformation contracts are nearing their final stages of implementation.

Backlog and Balance Sheet Remain Robust

Despite the immediate impact on revenue forecasts, Cerillion maintains that its underlying commercial position remains solid. The company cites a strong order backlog and a healthy new business pipeline as indicators of future demand. Additionally, it describes its balance sheet as robust, suggesting that the firm has the financial stability to support its ongoing operations and sales activities across its global network.

Global Footprint Supports Long-Term Stability

As a London-headquartered provider of billing, charging, and customer relationship management software, Cerillion serves telecommunications companies in approximately 45 countries. With around 70 customer installations and operations in India and Bulgaria, the company’s diversified geographic presence provides a buffer against localized market disruptions. Further details on its financial position will be released when the company publishes its full-year results at the end of November, as reported by GN markets/earnings (en-US).
