Bentley unveiled the Torcal, its first all-electric SUV, at a global event in London. The vehicle features up to 888 horsepower and a battery offering 375 miles of range.
This launch marks a major shift for the brand, which has discussed electric plans for nearly a decade. The Torcal joins the Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga as Bentley's fourth model line.
Power Output And Performance Caps
Two versions are available, with the top model producing 888 horsepower. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. However, Bentley deliberately limited the peak performance figures.
The company states that extreme acceleration often makes customers uncomfortable. This approach differs from earlier promises of over 1,400 horsepower. The base model offers 821 horsepower and a top speed of 155 mph.
Battery Specs And Charging Reality
Both models use a 113 kWh battery pack operating at 800 volts. Bentley claims a peak charging speed of 400 kilowatts. This allows a 10 to 80 percent charge in just 16 minutes.
Electrek notes that real-world range may be lower than the 375-mile estimate. The specs closely match the Porsche Cayenne Electric, a related model in the same group. A 10-year warranty covers the battery.
Interior Features And Design Details
The cabin includes curved OLED screens and a head-up display. Bentley introduced a new fabric made from 100% Merino wool. The car also features active suspension and all-wheel steering.
Bentley added a synthesized engine sound inspired by its V8 models. This audio feature scales with speed but can be turned off. Physical controls remain on the center console for driver preference.
