VW ID. Buzz Cargo LWB Starts at $60,000 with 300-Mile Range
Volkswagen introduced a longer electric cargo van with increased load capacity and software updates, priced near $60,000.

Volkswagen launched the ID. Buzz Cargo LWB on September 23. The new electric van offers more space and updated software features. Prices start at about $60,000 in the US market.
The longer wheelbase version adds 250 mm of interior length compared to the standard model. This extension provides an extra 0.5 cubic meters of storage space. A second sliding door and wooden floor are now standard equipment.
Expanded cargo capacity and access
The vehicle measures 4,962 mm in total length. The wider side door allows a standard Euro pallet to fit through. Buyers can also choose optional rear-wing doors for easier loading.
Payload capacity depends on the drive configuration. The rear-wheel drive model can carry up to 700 kg. The all-wheel drive version supports a maximum load of 606 kg.
Power and software upgrades
The LWB model uses an 86 kWh battery pack. This setup provides a WLTP range of nearly 300 miles. The all-wheel drive system delivers up to 250 kW of power.
New software includes one-pedal driving and optional Travel Assist. A key addition is vehicle-to-load capability. This allows the van to act as a mobile power source for tools.
Market timing and pricing details
Pre-orders for the AWD version opened on September 23. The price starts at €50,630, which is about $58,000. Electrek reports that a cheaper rear-wheel drive version follows next week.
The RWD model starts at €48,490, or roughly $55,000. In the UK, orders open in early 2027. The official launch there is planned for spring 2027.
