Kia Bets on Larger Vans to Hit 2030 Electric Sales Target

Kia is pivoting its 2030 electric van strategy to prioritize larger PV7 and PV9 models over the smaller PV5, targeting a total of 250,000 sales. CEO Ho-Sung Song confirmed that the larger vehicles are now expected to generate a bigger share of revenue, with thousands of fleet contracts already in negotiation.

  • According to GN auto tech/ev: electric vehicle, Kia CEO Ho-Sung Song revealed that the PV5 sales forecast has been cut to roughly 120,000 units, while the combined PV7 and PV9 targets have risen to approximately 130,000 units. The company is currently negotiating with over 300 firms for fleet orders, with 17,000 units already in active discussions.
