According to a statement issued by the police spokesperson, the incident occurred on Saturday when a group of attackers opened fire on a police party at the Sargah Nallah checkpost, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Singal police station.
The spokesperson confirmed that while the officers mounted an immediate retaliatory response, the attackers utilized the steep mountainous slopes and their elevated position to escape the area. It was emphasized that all police personnel remained safe during the exchange of fire. In response to the security threat, authorities stated that steps are being taken to relocate the police contingent to a more strategically suitable and secure location.

According to Dawn, the caretaker cabinet also approved the renaming of the Counter-Terrorism Department as the Counter-Terrorism Unit and sanctioned the recruitment of 600 new officers to expand law enforcement capabilities.
