A Philippine resupply vessel was damaged in a collision with a Chinese coast guard ship in disputed South China Sea waters. Chinese officials have now detailed their account of the incident near Xianbin Reef, blaming the Philippine vessel for deliberately accelerating into their craft after ignoring repeated warnings.
According to the China Coast Guard, the incident occurred near Xianbin Reef after Philippine vessel No. 3015 allegedly ignored warnings and accelerated into the bow of the Chinese ship, Sanzhou'ao. Beijing’s spokesperson asserted that the Philippine side bears full responsibility for the collision and accused Manila of engaging in provocative actions.
