Utah Gas Prices Jump 30 Cents in One Week
Utah's average gasoline price rose to $4.70 per gallon, marking a 30-cent weekly increase that now exceeds the national average.
The average price for a regular gallon of gasoline in Utah reached $4.70 on Monday. This represents a 30-cent increase from the previous week. The state average now stands significantly above the national average of $4.32 per gallon.
Diesel prices hit record highs
Diesel fuel reached a new peak of $5.95 per gallon on Sunday. The national average for diesel crossed the $6 threshold over the weekend. State offers zero percent farm loans
The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food is implementing a loan relief program for local farmers. Interest rates on active agriculture loans will drop to zero starting in November. Borrowers may defer principal and interest payments for up to twelve months. Approximately 400 active agriculture loans in the state qualify for this relief. The measures address losses from drought, wildfires, and spring freezes.
Glen Canyon boat ramps lower
New lower-elevation boat ramps are being installed in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Low water levels at Lake Powell have rendered existing ramps in the Bullfrog and Hite districts unsafe. The National Park Service will also remove invasive tamarisk plants to offset wetland impacts. Native willow species will be planted in both districts at a five-to-one ratio.
