Pennsylvania now ranks as the 10th most expensive gasoline market in the United States. The national average price for regular gas climbed by 16 cents during the same period.
Crude Oil Spikes Drive Costs
Volatility in the Strait of Hormuz pushed crude oil prices above $100 per barrel. This surge in raw material costs directly contributed to higher pump prices for consumers.
Regional Variations Across Counties
Prices vary significantly by county within the western Pennsylvania region. Data from GN auto markets/energy: gasoline prices shows a range from $4.37 to $4.59 in Erie County.
The highest average price recorded is $4.596 in Jeannette. The lowest average price is $4.415 in Sharon. Most other locations fall between $4.45 and $4.60.
Electric Charging Rates Remain Stable
The national average cost for electricity at public EV charging stations stayed flat. The price remained at 42 cents per kilowatt-hour for the week.
