The official exchange rate for the US dollar rose to 1,639,034 rials on September 13. The gap between official and black market rates widened further.

The Central Bank of Iran set the official dollar rate at 1,639,034 rials on September 13. This represents an increase of 4,902 rials from the previous day. The official euro rate climbed to 1,901,074 rials. This marks a rise of 5,056 rials from September 12.

Forty-five foreign currencies appreciated against the rial during this period. Only the Afghan afghani declined in value. The bank adopted the SANA system for these transactions. The system aligns official rates with specific exchange office protocols.

Official Rates Versus Street Prices

Unofficial market prices diverge sharply from bank figures. The black market traded the dollar between 2.34 million and 2.37 million rials. One euro cost between 2.71 million and 2.74 million rials on the street. This indicates a discount of over 40 percent for official rates.

Broad Currency Movements

Major reserve currencies all strengthened against the Iranian unit. The British pound rose to 2,217,257 rials. The Swiss franc reached 2,007,448 rials. The Chinese yuan was valued at 244,323 rials. The Russian ruble stood at 19,453 rials.

Asian currencies showed consistent gains. The Japanese yen rate for 100 units hit 1,067,293 rials. The South Korean won for 1,000 units reached 1,222,088 rials. The Indian rupee rose to 17,149 rials. These figures reflect a broad depreciation of the rial.

Regional Currency Adjustments

Gulf currencies also moved upward in the official schedule. The Saudi riyal was priced at 437,076 rials. The UAE dirham reached 446,299 rials. The Kuwaiti dinar stood at 5,314,363 rials. The Omani rial was valued at 4,257,099 rials.

Neighboring currencies followed the same trend. The Azerbaijani manat rose to 963,331 rials. The Turkish lira increased to 33,779 rials. The Georgian lari reached 630,076 rials. The Kazakh tenge for 100 units hit 363,655 rials. These adjustments are reported by GN markets/fx (en-US).
