Gainesville, Fla. – No. 8 Florida volleyball closed its nonconference schedule Wednesday evening with a 3-0 victory over Jacksonville. The match ended inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center, securing a seven-game winning streak for the Orange and Blue.
The floor was a blur of orange and white as the Gators served with precision. Lily Hayes delivered a career-high four aces, helping the team match its season high of 11 total service winners. The ball zipped past the net, leaving Jacksonville defenders scrambling to keep up.
Attackers dominate the front row
Kamryn Chaney and Logan King powered the offense with nine and seven kills respectively. Their spikes cracked against the floor, driving the score forward. Taylor Parks orchestrated the play, recording 30 of Florida's 36 assists. The tempo was fast, leaving little room for error.
Defense anchors the back row
The backcourt stood firm under pressure. Bella Lee and Selena Leban anchored the defense with nine and eight digs. Brooklyn Briscoe and Alec Rothe each added three blocks, controlling the net. The Gators out-dug Jacksonville 39-30, suffocating the Dolphins' attempts to extend rallies.
