Penguin Solutions, MaxLinear, and Aehr Test Systems report strong underlying demand in AI infrastructure components, with revenue growth outpacing broader sector corrections.

Three semiconductor firms tied to artificial intelligence infrastructure are maintaining strong operational momentum despite recent share price corrections. According to GN stocks/sp500 analysis, Penguin Solutions, MaxLinear, and Aehr Test Systems have all fallen more than 30% from their all-time highs. However, their latest financial disclosures indicate that fundamental demand for their specific hardware components remains robust.

These companies are benefiting from the expanding requirements for memory efficiency, optical connectivity, and chip testing in data centers. While the broader AI stock rally has cooled, these three firms report significant year-over-year revenue increases. Their performance suggests that the physical build-out of AI systems is still driving consistent order books, even as investors rotate out of high-valuation growth stocks.

Memory and Optical Revenue Surge

Penguin Solutions reported a 48% increase in total revenue for its fiscal 2026 third quarter. The primary driver was its Integrated Memory segment, which more than doubled year-over-year and grew 60% sequentially. This segment, which includes Compute Express Link technology, now accounts for 57.5% of total company revenue, up from 40.1% in the same period last year. This shift indicates that the company’s legacy businesses are being superseded by its newer, higher-growth AI memory products.

MaxLinear also demonstrated strong acceleration, with Q2 revenue jumping 55% year-over-year. CEO Kishore Seendripu attributed this to surging demand for optical AI data center products, which more than doubled in the same period. The company posted a 23% sequential revenue increase, highlighting a sustained upward trend. These figures reflect the increasing complexity of data center interconnects required to support large-scale AI training and inference workloads.

Forward Guidance Signals Acceleration

Looking ahead, MaxLinear expects Q3 revenue to reach a midpoint of $215 million. This represents a 27% sequential improvement over the previous quarter. The company cites the convergence of multiple growth drivers over the next two years as the basis for this outlook. This guidance suggests that the current cycle of AI infrastructure spending is not a one-quarter anomaly but a multi-year structural shift in semiconductor demand.

Aehr Test Systems projects fiscal 2027 revenue between $130 million and $150 million. This range implies up to 300% year-over-year growth compared to its $50 million in fiscal 2026. The company specializes in test and burn-in solutions for semiconductor devices, ensuring chips are defect-free before shipment. The anticipated growth is driven by hyperscalers and chipmakers who are increasingly designing their own custom silicon, requiring extensive validation services.

Valuation Context Amidst Market Volatility

Despite these strong operational metrics, all three stocks have experienced significant drawdowns. Aehr Test Systems, for instance, trades at a $3 billion market capitalization despite modest absolute revenue figures. However, its specialized role in the semiconductor supply chain positions it to capture the rising volume of custom chip development. The disconnect between current share prices and reported revenue growth highlights the volatility inherent in high-growth tech sectors.

Investors are currently weighing the sustainability of these growth rates against broader market corrections. The consistent revenue expansion in Penguin Solutions' memory segment and MaxLinear's optical business provides a factual basis for assessing their long-term positioning. As AI infrastructure continues to expand, these companies remain critical suppliers of essential hardware components.
