Universal Vapor Jet Corporation (UVJC) is set to unveil NovaJet, its first commercial thin-film deposition system, at the WESEMiBAY Semiconductor Ecosystem Conference and Expo in Shenzhen. The event runs from October 14 to 16, marking the company’s initial trade show appearance. According to Stock Titan, the launch targets manufacturers seeking alternatives to traditional lithography and solvent-based processes.
NovaJet is built on UVJC’s Universal Vapor Jet Printing (UVJP) technology, which enables dry, maskless, and solvent-free deposition. The system is designed to place functional materials directly onto substrates without the need for substrate heating. This capability addresses the growing demand for precision in advanced packaging and complex device architectures, where temperature-sensitive or non-planar surfaces are common.
System Reduces Manufacturing Process Steps
The technology streamlines production by eliminating steps associated with solvents, masks, and drying. UVJP supports multiple materials and graded compositions in a single step, which simplifies the workflow for manufacturers. A production system is currently installed and operating at its headquarters and R&D facility, where the company produces the coated substrates and printed samples that will be displayed at the event. This operational setup demonstrates the system's readiness for real-world manufacturing environments.
Chandran Nair, CEO of UVJC, stated that NovaJet represents a significant step in bringing UVJP closer to practical manufacturing. The company will showcase a scale model of the system at Booth 8G03.
