Users do not need to abandon high-quality audio entirely to save data. The application allows separate settings for cellular and Wi-Fi connections. By keeping cellular playback at the standard high-quality level and reserving lossless audio for Wi-Fi environments, listeners can balance sound fidelity with data conservation. This approach is particularly useful for those who listen primarily at home or in the office.

Downloading music over Wi-Fi is another effective strategy. Once files are stored on the device, playing them does not consume cellular data. This is beneficial for long commutes or travel, where data limits are a concern. However, users should note that lossless files occupy significantly more storage space than compressed versions, requiring sufficient device capacity to maintain a large library.

The benefits of lossless streaming are contingent on the playback hardware. Bluetooth connections are inherently lossy, meaning that streaming lossless audio to standard wireless headphones will result in quality degradation. To experience the full fidelity of the stream, a wired connection is often necessary. For the highest resolution tier, an external digital-to-analog converter is required to handle the high sample rates, adding another layer of complexity for casual listeners.
