A limited-time offer allows eligible new subscribers to access the full season of NFL Sunday Ticket for a significantly reduced annual fee, provided they meet specific account criteria.

For the first time, football fans can access the entire NFL Sunday Ticket lineup through YouTube for a price that undercuts standard market rates. According to reports from 9to5Google, a special promotion is currently active for new subscribers who already pay for YouTube Premium. The deal locks in the annual cost at $204, a figure that represents a discount of nearly 60% compared to the standard standalone price for the 2026-2027 season.

The standard retail price for a standalone subscription to NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube is $480 per year. Even with a general introductory discount for new users, the price usually drops only to $240. However, the specific bundle for YouTube Premium members offers the lowest tier available. This rate is accessible through either the YouTube TV platform or the YouTube Primetime Channels service, making it the most economical entry point for the service this season.

Strict eligibility rules apply to the discount

There is a significant limitation to this offer that many potential buyers might overlook. The discount is exclusively for individuals who have never subscribed to NFL Sunday Ticket before. Returning customers, even those with active YouTube Premium memberships, are not eligible for the reduced rate. If you have used the service in the past, you will be required to pay the full standard price, which is substantially higher than the promotional amount.

YouTube has clarified the pricing structure to distinguish between new and existing users. New subscribers paying via the promotional route will make eight non-cancellable payments of $25.50 per month, totaling $204 for the year. In contrast, returning customers who bundle the service with YouTube TV will pay $47.25 per month, or $378 annually. Those who opt for the standalone option without the bundle will face a monthly cost of $40, amounting to $480 per year.

The promotion expires at the end of September

Time is a critical factor in securing this rate. The special pricing is only available through September 30. After this date, the promotional window closes, and the pricing structure reverts to the standard rates for all new and returning subscribers. This creates a hard deadline for anyone looking to save money on their football viewing costs for the upcoming season.

While the upfront annual cost is lower, the commitment is fixed. The payments are described as non-cancellable, meaning that once the subscription is activated, the full $204 is charged to the account. This contrasts with some other streaming services that offer month-to-month flexibility without long-term contracts. Prospective buyers should weigh the savings against the commitment of a full season's worth of payments before finalizing their purchase.

Context for the changing streaming landscape

This pricing move comes as YouTube continues to expand its role in live sports broadcasting. The platform has recently overhauled its app-to-TV experience, removing the previous requirement for a shared Wi-Fi network to stream content. Additionally, YouTube Premium has faced price adjustments in various regions, making this targeted discount a notable exception to the trend of rising subscription costs for premium digital content.
