Ten games, including the high-profile Cyberpunk 2077, are set to leave the subscription service on September 15, creating a significant gap in the library.

Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass are facing a notable reduction in their available library this week. On Tuesday, September 15, ten titles will be removed from the service. This includes several popular games that have been central to many players' recent gaming sessions.

The most significant departure is Cyberpunk 2077, a major title whose absence will be felt by a large segment of the user base. Alongside it, other well-known names like Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor and Frostpunk 2 are also leaving, marking a substantial shift in the current monthly lineup.

Major titles exit the lineup

The list of departing games spans a variety of genres, from simulation to action-adventure. Besides the headline act, players will lose access to Spiritfarer, a cooperative roguelike hit, and Superliminal, a unique puzzle game. The removal of these specific titles means that the diversity of the current monthly offerings is decreasing significantly.

According to coverage by GN technics/gaming, this batch of removals is considered a heavy loss for the service. The simultaneous departure of these ten games creates a noticeable void, particularly for those who relied on the platform for their weekly gaming routine without needing to purchase individual copies.

Limited time discount opportunity

There is a brief window for players to secure these titles at a reduced cost. Until the removal date, all ten games are available for purchase with a discount of at least 20 percent. This offers a chance to own the games permanently at a lower price point than their standard retail value.

However, this discount is the primary trade-off for the removal. Once September 15 passes, these games will no longer be part of the subscription. Players who did not purchase them during the discount period will lose access entirely, as they are not part of the permanent library.

Future changes to the catalog

The removal of these titles is part of a continuous cycle of updates to the Game Pass catalog. While the current loss is significant, the service will continue to add new games in the coming weeks. However, the specific combination of titles leaving this week represents a distinct change in the available options for subscribers.
