MediaTek has introduced its Dimensity 9600 Pro and 9600M processors, marking a significant shift in how high-end smartphones handle graphics and artificial intelligence. The company, whose chips power many flagship devices outside the United States, is positioning these new units to compete directly with established rivals by focusing on two specific areas: fluid gaming performance and on-device AI capabilities that do not require an internet connection.
For the average user, the primary benefit is a smoother experience when playing graphically intensive games, with MediaTek claiming support for 185 frames per second.
