Vivo V80 Battery Capacity and Launch Date Reported

New details suggest the upcoming vivo V80 will feature a significantly larger battery and advanced camera tools, with an expected release in early October.
vivo is reportedly preparing to launch the V80 in India during the first week of October, following the recent release of the V80 Lite. As the direct successor to the popular V70, the new device is expected to focus on enhanced battery life and creative photography features.
According to information gathered by GSMArena, the phone will include a 7,200 mAh battery, a substantial increase from the 6,500 mAh cell found in its predecessor. The device is also said to debut with Android 17 and vivo’s OriginOS 7, which is scheduled for a global unveiling on September 16.
Battery capacity offers longer usage
The jump to a 7,200 mAh battery represents a clear improvement for users who prioritize endurance. In practical terms, this capacity should allow the phone to last significantly longer between charges compared to the previous model, reducing the need for frequent top-ups during a typical day.
AI camera modes expand creativity
The V80 is expected to introduce an AI Creative Camera mode featuring over 30 distinct effects. This appears similar to the style options previously seen on the X300 FE. Additionally, a Live Sticker Collage feature will allow users to combine moving photos and stickers into a single dynamic image, adding a new layer of personalization to photo sharing.
Software update arrives with new OS
The device will ship with Android 17 under the hood, layered with vivo’s OriginOS 7. This software update is set to be revealed on September 16. While the new operating system promises the latest features, early adopters should be aware that new software versions often require time to stabilize, meaning some initial updates may be necessary after launch.
