Haier Introduces AI Oven with Camera and Light Bar

A new built-in oven uses internal cameras to monitor cooking progress, aiming to reduce guesswork in the kitchen while adding a visual status indicator.
Haier has unveiled the ID Ultimate Series 6, a range of built-in kitchen appliances that relies on artificial intelligence to manage the cooking process. The centerpiece of this collection is an oven equipped with an internal camera system designed to identify food items and monitor their state in real time. This technology aims to eliminate the need for manual timing and visual checks, a common frustration for home cooks who rely on ovens for daily meals.
The appliance features a distinctive light bar along the front edge that glows blue to indicate operational status. The design prioritizes a minimalist aesthetic, integrating technology into the appliance's exterior without cluttering the interface with complex buttons or screens.
Internal cameras monitor cooking
Inside the 78-liter cavity, an AI Vision camera tracks the food from the moment it is placed on the shelf. The system recognizes the type of dish and adjusts the cooking parameters accordingly. Once the food reaches the desired level of doneness, the oven automatically stops the program to prevent burning. This functionality is intended to preserve texture and moisture, offering a consistent result without requiring the user to stay in the kitchen.
The oven also includes specific modes for steam cooking and sous-vide preparation. These settings allow for lower-temperature cooking, which helps retain natural flavors and nutrients. The accompanying ID Hob Series 6 is a fully active induction cooktop that supports up to six pots and pans simultaneously. It automatically detects the position of each vessel and delivers precise power to the specific area. A notable feature is the ability for cooking settings to follow the pan if it is moved to a different position on the surface, ensuring that the heat source remains aligned with the cookware.
