For years, the standard for smart homes has been to stream sensitive data, such as video feeds and personal habits, to remote servers. This model often comes with recurring subscription costs and raises valid privacy concerns. UGREEN is now entering the AI of Things space with a different approach, launching a local-first ecosystem designed to keep your home's intelligence entirely within your living space.
The new HomeAgent HA100 and HA100 Pro devices operate on a local architecture, meaning processing, storage, and device control happen on your home network rather than in the cloud. According to GN technics/smarthome (en-US), this setup eliminates monthly storage fees, allowing users to own their data and device functionality without ongoing financial commitments to third-party servers.
Local Processing Enhances Privacy
By keeping data on-site, the system addresses the common frustration of relying on external infrastructure for basic home functions. This local-first design ensures that core security and smart home operations remain private, as information does not leave the household. It represents a shift away from the industry's heavy reliance on cloud subscriptions for basic access to one's own home.
AI Focuses on Daily Moments
Unlike traditional security systems that primarily monitor for threats, the HomeAgent uses local AI to capture positive everyday moments. It can identify people, pets, and vehicles to create highlight videos for display on compatible smart frames. The system also includes a voice assistant named Uliya, which allows users to control devices and set custom alerts, such as notifications for a crying baby, all while maintaining local data handling.
High-End Power for Complex Tasks
For users requiring more computational capacity, UGREEN is also launching the MasterAgent MA100. Powered by an NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 processor, this hub is designed to run larger AI models and handle complex voice commands with deeper context. It can coordinate multiple tasks across the home and allows developers to create custom skills, though this higher performance comes with a more specialized hardware requirement.
Pre-orders for the HA100, HA100 Pro, and MA100 are currently open, with a dedicated early access period running until October 27, 2026. A $50 deposit during this window secures a significant discount, but buyers should note that the full launch and broader availability are tied to a future crowdfunding campaign. The trade-off for this local control is the need for robust local hardware and network infrastructure to support the processing demands.
