Four Palestinians Killed in Gaza Despite Ongoing Ceasefire

Israeli military operations in Gaza have continued to claim civilian lives, resulting in the deaths of at least four Palestinians in recent incidents. Among the victims is an 11-year-old boy who was shot dead in the al-Mawasi area, a zone designated as a safe haven for displaced persons in the southern part of the Strip.

These killings occur despite a ceasefire agreement signed between Israel and Hamas in October 2025. According to reports from Al Jazeera English, no withdrawal of Israeli forces has taken place, and violence has persisted across multiple districts, raising serious concerns about the stability of the truce.

Deaths Reported Across Districts

Hospital officials in Khan Younis confirmed the arrival of the body of Ismail al-Bardawil, who was shot in the chest by Israeli tanks while near tents housing displaced families. In a separate incident in the northern Gaza Strip, a man identified as Mohsen Ahmed Bahjat was killed by a drone strike in Jabalia, according to officials at al-Shifa Hospital.

Further casualties were reported in central Gaza, where a 31-year-old woman named Fidaa Toutah was shot in the head by tanks while near Bureij refugee camp. Witnesses described her as being on her way to deliver her children to school. Later in the day, another man was killed by a drone in the center of Khan Younis city.

Ceasefire Terms Remain Unenforced

Gaza’s Civil Defence spokesman, Mahmoud Basal, described the situation as a bleak reality for displaced families living in close proximity to military positions. He noted that air strikes continue to pose a genuine threat to hundreds of thousands of people who believed the ceasefire would provide a sense of protection.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has documented 1,394 deaths and 4,839 injuries since the ceasefire came into effect. These figures highlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis, with the total death toll since October 2023 reaching at least 73,914 people, according to official records.

Humanitarian Situation Worsens

The continued presence of military hardware in areas designated for civilian shelter has undermined confidence in the safety of these zones. Residents report that the threat of strikes has not diminished, leading to widespread fear among those who have already experienced years of displacement and disruption.

As the conflict enters a new phase, the lack of tangible security measures has left many families vulnerable. The situation underscores the gap between diplomatic agreements and the reality on the ground, where daily life remains dominated by the risk of violence.
