The official exchange rate for one US dollar increased to 1,643,951 rials on September 14. This figure represents a rise from 1,639,034 rials recorded on September 13. The Central Bank of Iran released these official rates for 46 different foreign currencies. All 46 currencies showed an increase in value compared to the previous day.

According to data cited by GN markets/fx (en-US), the euro also strengthened. The official rate for one euro reached 1,907,135 rials. This is higher than the 1,901,074 rials recorded on September 13. The British pound followed a similar trend. Its value rose to 2,224,159 rials from 2,217,257 rials.

Official Rates Show Broad Strength

The Central Bank of Iran adopted the SANA system for currency exchange offices. Under this system, the euro costs 1,907,135 rials. The US dollar costs 1,643,951 rials. Other major currencies also moved higher. The Canadian dollar rose to 1,185,989 rials. The Australian dollar increased to 1,178,858 rials.

Asian currencies demonstrated gains in the official market. The Japanese yen value increased to 1,072,593 rials per 100 units. The Chinese yuan rose to 245,087 rials. The Indian rupee reached 17,200 rials per unit. These figures reflect a consistent upward trend across the board.

Black Market Diverges Sharply

A significant gap exists between official and black market rates. On the unofficial market, one US dollar is worth about 2,280,000 to 2,310,000 rials. One euro trades at 2,640,000 to 2,670,000 rials. This divergence highlights the difference between state-controlled pricing and street value.

The official rate of 1,643,951 rials for the dollar stands well below the black market floor. The difference exceeds 600,000 rials per dollar. Market participants rely on the SANA system for official transactions. However, the black market rate often reflects true supply and demand dynamics.
