The No. 13 Pepperdine Waves finished tied for third place at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colorado. They posted a total of 32-under par across three rounds against 20 teams at Red Sky Golf Club.
The team’s 32-under mark is the second-lowest team score in program history. In the final round on Wednesday, Pepperdine shot 16-under par. This tied the third-lowest single-round score in the school’s records.
Eunseo Choi Secures Runner-Up Title
Eunseo Choi finished the tournament as the individual runner-up at 14-under par. Her score of 69-67-66 marked the third-lowest 54-hole total for a Wave. She made an eagle and three birdies on the back nine to surge into solo second place.
Her performance trails only two previous records in school history. Lisa McCloskey shot 17-under in 2008. Katherine Hull posted 16-under in 2003. Choi’s consistency kept her near the top of the field all week.
Anderson Posts Career-Best Round
Grace Anderson carded a career-best 64, which was eight-under par. This is one of only seven rounds of 8-under or better in program history. She finished fifth individually with a tournament total of 11-under par.
Anderson caught fire on the back nine. She birdied holes 12, 14, and 16 through 18. An eagle on the par-5 15th sealed the round. Only six Waves have ever recorded a round of 64 or better.
Kylee Choi Maintains Top-Ten Pace
Kylee Choi finished the week with a 10-under total. Her final round of 66 was the second-lowest of her Pepperdine career. She made seven birdies, including five in seven holes from 12 to 18.
The team finished one stroke behind runner-up Miami. They trailed champion USC by 15 strokes. Head coach Laurie Gibbs praised the players for fighting for scores all 54 holes. The result marks a strong start to the season for the Waves.
