The initiative utilizes the Veridian at County Farm housing development in Ann Arbor as the test site for aggregating distributed energy resources. The development is engineered to generate renewable energy equal to or exceeding its total consumption. Residents utilize rooftop solar panels and geothermal systems for heating and cooling, with surplus electricity stored in on-site batteries.
