This fixed sequence allows suppliers to manufacture and pack parts in the exact order required, eliminating the need for large warehouses to store and sort components. The result is a leaner operation where parts flow directly into the assembly line, reducing waste and improving cost-effectiveness.

This approach also allows for flexible capacity planning, enabling the factory to produce A2 and A3 bodies on the same line. While automation plays a larger role, with robotic arms installing wheels and retrieving small components from mixed containers, the company emphasizes that human oversight remains central. Another system supports maintenance teams by analyzing faults and suggesting solutions, which can significantly reduce downtime. These digital aids are designed to make information more accessible, allowing workers to resolve issues faster without navigating complex databases.

Pricing targets European budget buyers

The A2 e-tron is specifically designed to meet the needs of European buyers, with pre-orders already open and sales scheduled to launch in December. The starting price is set at €38,200, a figure intended to make the vehicle more accessible in a competitive market. While the company highlights the technological advancements in production, the primary goal remains to offer a practical electric vehicle that balances affordability with modern features. This strategy positions the A2 e-tron as a direct competitor in the segment of compact, city-focused electric cars.
