Toyota's Electric SUV Sales Surge Despite Market Cooling

Toyota has emerged as the leader in US EV sales growth for August, selling nearly 5,000 units despite a broader market contraction. This surge is attributed to the refreshed bZ SUV lineup, which offers improved range, standardized charging, and lower entry pricing compared to rivals.
According to GN auto tech/ev, Toyota’s August momentum stems from significant hardware updates to the bZ lineup, including a standard NACS charge port, extended range up to 314 miles, and a refreshed 14-inch multimedia interface. These enhancements have helped the vehicle maintain a top-five national sales ranking and drive the brand’s overall EV market share growth.
