A new digital platform aims to simplify the process for Australian businesses seeking automation solutions, leveraging a global supplier network and local industry expertise.

Robotics Australia Group has launched AutomationFinder.com.au, a vendor-neutral platform designed to help Australian companies navigate the complex process of adopting industrial automation. The service connects businesses with potential suppliers by assessing project feasibility, costs, and technical requirements, aiming to reduce the uncertainty that often slows down industrial upgrades.

The platform is powered by HowToRobot, a company in which Humanoid Global Holdings Corp. holds a minority stake. This partnership represents HowToRobot’s first country-wide licensed deployment, combining its global technology with RAG’s local market reach to create a centralized resource for automation planning.

Streamlining Complex Industrial Procurement

For many manufacturers and service providers, identifying the right automation solution is often the most difficult step in the adoption process. AutomationFinder addresses this by allowing users to draft supplier-ready project briefs and compare different technological approaches before committing to a vendor. The system draws on a database of over 600 real-world automation projects to provide practical benchmarks for costs and outcomes.

This approach translates technical specifications into clear business stakes, helping decision-makers understand the value proposition of various machines and software systems. By centralizing this information, the platform seeks to lower the barrier to entry for small and medium-sized enterprises that may lack in-house robotics expertise.

Global Network Meets Local Reach

The platform leverages HowToRobot’s extensive global network, which includes more than 20,000 automation suppliers. Of these, up to 500 are based in Australia, ensuring that users have access to both local support and international technology options. This hybrid model allows businesses to source specialized equipment from abroad while still benefiting from local installation and maintenance services.

The collaboration highlights a growing trend in the robotics sector where global technology firms partner with national industry bodies to accelerate adoption. By combining HowToRobot’s methodology with RAG’s relationships, the service aims to bridge the gap between available technology and practical industrial application.

Investor Role And Strategic Boundaries

Humanoid Global Holdings Corp. participated in HowToRobot’s Series A financing with a US$75,000 investment and serves on its advisory board. However, the company explicitly states that it does not control or operate HowToRobot and is not a party to the commercial agreement between HowToRobot and RAG. This distinction clarifies that Humanoid Global’s role is limited to strategic advice and financial support, rather than direct operational involvement in the platform.

While the launch marks a significant step for the ecosystem, users should note that the platform is a facilitator rather than a vendor. It provides information and connections, but the final decision on automation projects remains with the individual businesses. The trade-off for using such a centralized directory is that it relies on the accuracy of supplier data and the quality of the matching algorithms, which may not always perfectly align with niche or highly customized industrial needs.
