This development follows the recent debut of the PV5, Kia’s first electric van, which also underwent US testing but has yet to enter the market.
The PV7 represents a significant step up in size and capability compared to the PV5. Measuring over 17.5 feet in length, it is designed to serve both passenger and commercial needs with a larger cargo volume and enhanced range. While Kia has not confirmed a US launch date, the presence of the vehicle in American testing phases suggests that the company is seriously considering the market, even as it faces complex logistical and financial hurdles.
Larger Capacity and Extended Range
The PV7 is considerably bigger than its predecessor, offering more than two feet of additional length. This extra space translates to practical benefits for businesses and families, with cargo volume reaching up to 8 cubic meters in the high-roof variant. For passenger use, the van can accommodate up to nine people in standard configurations, with an eleven-seater option available in South Korea. Under the hood, the PV7 offers two battery options: a 71.5 kWh and a 96.2 kWh pack.
