DIVEVOLK Launches Sixth-Generation Underwater Phone Housing

A new underwater housing promises to eliminate the friction of submerged photography by allowing direct finger control on the phone screen.
DIVEVOLK has introduced the SeaTouch 6 Pro, a sixth-generation underwater housing designed to solve a common frustration for divers and snorkelers: the inability to interact directly with a smartphone screen once it is sealed inside a protective case. The device relies on a proprietary flexible membrane that transmits touch inputs, allowing users to swipe, tap, and adjust camera settings with bare fingers while submerged.
The system supports depths up to 60 meters and is compatible with iPhone models from the 12 through the 18, as well as select Android devices. According to reports from GN technics/mobile, the housing retains native functionality, meaning users can access their standard camera apps, music players, and messaging tools without installing special software or removing the case. This approach aims to remove the delay between seeing a moment and capturing it.
Direct Touch Controls Underwater
The core innovation is a buttonless design that replaces physical buttons with a responsive touchscreen membrane. This allows for precise control over zoom, focus, and shutter functions. The company claims this setup eliminates the learning curve associated with traditional underwater housings, which often require users to memorize the locations of bulky external buttons. The goal is to provide a seamless experience where the phone feels as natural underwater as it does on dry land.
Optical Enhancements and Durability
To address the color distortion typical in underwater photography, the housing includes a built-in red filter calibrated through extensive testing. This component helps restore natural tones for snorkeling and water sports. The construction features triple-layer sealing and impact-resistant materials to protect the device. A modular mount system also allows users to attach additional lenses, lights, or brackets, providing flexibility for different shooting scenarios.
Availability and Compatibility Limits
The SeaTouch 6 Pro is priced at 268 US dollars or 232 euros. Pre-orders are currently open, with shipping scheduled to begin in October 2026. While the housing supports a wide range of modern smartphones, it is not universal; compatibility is limited to specific iPhone and Android models. Users should verify their device model before purchasing. GPS and cellular signals can still pass through the housing, enabling navigation and emergency communication when near the surface.
