CrowdStrike CEO Says AI Risks Persist Despite Safety Calls

CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz argues that slowing AI development will not remove existing security threats, as dangerous models are already in circulation.
George Kurtz, the chief executive of CrowdStrike, stated on Monday that attempts to slow the development of advanced artificial intelligence models will not eliminate their security risks. Kurtz explained that a significant number of models, including both frontier and open-weight versions, are already available and capable of causing harm. The comments followed a widely discussed essay by Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, which urged AI labs to reduce the pace of model development due to growing safety concerns.
