Bradford College has opened a £19.3 million extension designed specifically to train the next generation of technicians for hybrid and electric vehicles. The new facility, known as Junction Mills, was built on the site of a former textile mill in the city center. Smith noted that Bradford College is one of only a few institutions in the country offering hands-on experience with hydrogen-powered vehicle technology. This allows students to learn the mechanics of fuel cell operation, which is a key area of growth in the automotive sector.

In addition to the technical workshops, the facility includes classrooms and IT labs to support theoretical learning. The combination of digital and physical training tools is intended to provide a comprehensive education. The college claims that its motor vehicle courses already perform above the national average, and the new infrastructure is expected to further elevate the quality of education provided to students.
