Marel Power Solutions has secured $1.9 million in state and federal grants to expand its Plymouth, Michigan pilot line, aiming to produce power electronics that occupy one-quarter of the traditional space at a lower cost. This expansion supports diverse applications including EVs, defense systems, and AI data centers by addressing the growing demand for higher power density in constrained footprints.
According to GN auto tech/ev: electric vehicle, the $1.9 million award is part of a broader $21 million Michigan LEO initiative selected from eleven automotive suppliers, with additional federal support from the DOE aimed at adapting to EV and defense technologies.
