Indian Firm Plans Massive Data Center Campus in Hyderabad

Fortune Hospitality & Infra, an Indian company primarily known for its hospitality operations, has announced a proposal to build a large-scale data center campus near Hyderabad. The facility is planned to cover 200 acres and would support digital infrastructure needs across the region.

The initial estimated cost for the project is approximately US$6.2 billion. If fully expanded, the total investment could rise to US$10.4 billion. The site is located adjacent to the Bharat Future City development zone.

Scale and technical capacity

The campus is designed to handle up to 1,600 megawatts of information technology load. This capacity is divided into four independent modules, each rated at 400 megawatts. These modules are intended to host artificial intelligence workloads, cloud services, and high-performance computing systems.

The power supply for the facility is based on a sanctioned capacity of 2,000 MVA from the local transmission utility. This substantial energy requirement highlights the significant infrastructure demands of modern hyperscale computing environments.

Sustainability and water usage

Company leadership states that the design integrates several sustainability measures. These include the use of treated greywater and low-water cooling technologies to reduce freshwater consumption. The project also plans to procure long-term solar and wind energy as part of its power strategy.
